So here we are, a day AFTER my birthday, and we're here in the hospital. Brandi woke me up at about 3:30 AM and she was pretty uncomfortable. We started tracking her contractions at 4:00 and they were about 3-4 minutes apart for about an hour. We got up, got ready and left. Pretty convenient for us because Amy and Jake (my sister and her boyfriend for those who don't know) came up yesterday to surprise me for my birthday so we didn't have to call anyone to leave the kids with. We got here at about 5:30 AM and they checked Brandi's blood pressure and it was pretty high. She also has some considerable swelling in her ankles and hands so they're going to give her the dreaded pitocin and break her water here in a bit due to the high BP and the swelling. I'm going to do my best to keep a running synopsis here on our blog until baby Payton gets here. More later....
