CALLING ALL RUNNERS, WALKERS, SKIPPERS & JOGGERS! & Reagan's T-Ball

Okay my mom and I were really looking forward to running the 1/2 marathon in Spud Days in 3 weeks but due to life, we are not going to make it. So we thought maybe it would be fun to put together our own 1/2 marathon(13.1 miles)! We figure at a regular pace you can walk a mile in about 15-20 minutes. at that rate you can WALK the whole thing in about 4 hours. So anyone can do this! This is for anyone that is interested that may feel to much pressure in a "real" marathon setting. We will have water stations that family will man for us and have a yummy lunch/dinner after. We are shooting for the beginning/middle of October! That's why I said walkers & skippers too. Anyone can do it. This will be good motivation for anyone wanting to get there game on again! Start walking now and join us in the fun! More details to come as we set the date and nail down all the details. So shoot me an e-mail or comment if you want to come PLAY! (if no one joins my mom and I are still doing it!) NO PRESSURE! although there are 2 of you know who better be there:)

Mars
The Red Planet is about to be spectacular!

This month and next, Earth is catching up with Mars in an encounter that
will culminate in the closest approach between the two planets in
recorded history. The next time Mars may come this close is
in 2287. Due to the way Jupiter's gravity tugs on

Mars and perturbs its orbit, astronomers can only be
certain that Mars has not come this close to Earth
in the Last 5,000 years, but it may be as long as
60,000 years before it happens again.

The encounter will culminate on August 27th when
Mars comes to within 34,649,589 miles of Earth and
will be (next to the moon) the brightest object in
the night sky. It will attain a magnitude of -2.9
and will appear 25.11 arc seconds wide. At a modest
75-power magnification


Mars will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye.
Mars will be easy to spot. At the
beginning of August it will rise in the east at 10p.m.
and reach its azimuth at about 3 a.m.

By the end of August when the two planets are
closest, Mars will rise at nightfall and reach its
highest point in the sky at 12:30a.m. That's pretty
convenient to see something that no human being has
seen in recorded history. So, mark your calendar at
the beginning of August to see Mars grow
progressively brighter and brighter throughout the
month.

WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE!?

She has always been a poser for the camera! I miss this little girl, and she has only been gone for 2 hours! She is in the 1ST GRADE! I am really emotional about it. The whole bus thing and all day school! I took video of her walking to the bus and she turned to look at me when she got on the bus and then left with no problems. I don't want problems with her being nervous about the bus but I sort of wanted her to act like she wanted me to be with her. I don't know. She is growing up so fast. She helps me a lot around the house and with her brothers so I will miss that,(not her attitude) but hopefully I can enjoy the boy time while she is learning math skills higher than mine;) I can't wait for her to get home today though. This phase will pass I am sure but right now I am a bit teary about it...

So after I left her on the bus and walked home I called Ry to let him know all is well but I couldn't even talk and he said "I was waiting for this call!" I am pathetic. I regained my composure and let him in on all the action and now I am on with the day...

Reagan's Birthday!!!

I know this one is SO late! We had tons of fun at her party! She loved it!

okay so this was step #1. baking and layering the cake! not to hard. I had my mom help me with the decorating. I had no idea where to begin. 2 heads are so way better than 1(especially mine alone, LMBO)

at this point I was so glad my mom was there b/c she always know what she is doing. I was a bit nervous. come to find out later she said "no i had no clue what we were doing, i just fake it" I guess she knows that if she would have shown her nerves i would have been a wreck;)
FINAL RESULT! i am so happy with how it turned out and Reagan's face was worth every minute past 1 a.m. we were spending on it. (oh and we loved the reflection so i had to share this one)

i seriously had a hard time cutting into that cake. i feel for those people that spend days on wedding cakes(mom) just to watch it get plastered onto someone's face.

they decorated crowns(for the boys) and tiara's(for the girls) to play pin the tiara/crown on Ariel. (i know i took pictures of that but can't find them) they did a good job, it was fun to watch the difference in the kids ideas of how they wanted them to look.

Teton Dam Half Marathon!

Another one of my better later than nevers! I posted about my journey through the marathon a while back, but had some tiny pics and only like 2 so I am excited to put up the better pics and share this experience w/you all again! (so annoying, i never upload the photos in the right order and i am WAY to lazy to fix it tonight!)
After the run my mom talked me into letting someone massage my feet, I ended up LOVING it!
