7 Reasons Not To Mess With Children (& COMING SOON... EXCLUSIVE ROCK BAND VIDEO OF THE FAM!)

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.
The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small.
The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale.
Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.
The little girl said, 'When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah'.
The teacher asked, 'What if Jonah went to hell?'
The little girl replied, 'Then you ask him'.

A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work.
As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was.
The girl replied, 'I'm drawing God.'
The teacher paused and said, 'But no one knows what God looks like.'
Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, 'They will in a minute.'

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds.
After explaining the commandment to 'honour' thy Father and thy Mother, she asked, 'Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?'
Without missing a beat one little boy (the oldest of a family) answered, 'Thou shall not kill.'

One day a little girl was sitting and watching her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly noticed that her mother had several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast on her brunette head.
She looked at her mother and inquisitively asked, 'Why are some of your hairs white, Mum?'
Her mother replied, 'Well, every time that you do something wrong and make me cry or unhappy, one of my hairs turns white.'
The little girl thought about this revelation for a while and then said, 'Mummy, how come ALL of grandma's hairs are white?'

The children had all been photographed, and the teacher was trying to persuade them each to buy a copy of the group picture.
'Just think how nice it will be to look at it when you are all grown up and say, 'There's Jennifer, she's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael, He's a doctor.'
A small voice at the back of the room rang out, 'And there's the teacher, she's dead.'

A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, 'Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face.'
'Yes,' the class said.
'Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn't run into my feet?'
A little fellow shouted,
'Cause your feet ain't empty.'

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary schoolfor lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray:
'Take only ONE . God is watching.'
Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.
A child had written a note, 'Take all you want. God is watching the apples.'

Reagan!

I am trying to do better at sending Reagan to school with her hair done and fun.  So today was a cute one.  She is so darn cute after the sassiness and brushing.  Then she always loves it to.  Just getting it done, my word!!!!! you would think I was trying to cute a finger off or something. That is how dramatic and whiny she gets.  The water works and all.
Today was good and not a big deal but most days...

IT'S OFFICIAL!!!

WE ARE OFFICIALLY HOME OWNERS! It's a 5 bedroom 2 bath with awesome lighting downstairs and ready for ceiling surround sound. Beautiful tile floors and amazing counter tops. Big backyard that is fenced in and just through the gate(literally) is a park. I have a laundry room now and a family room that WILL NOT HAVE A T.V. in it! The one thing it is missing however is a garage, which we have had most of the time. That will suck a bit but we plan on pouring a new drive way soon and getting a start on the garage. This is exciting to actually have home projects that will help our own home.
We signed last night and we close at the end of March. I can't even begin to express my excitement, nervousness, happiness, joy, worry, you know all the things that come with growing up. Ry and I are really excited about this. Things have really fallen into place lately for us. We are feeling very blessed.
The kids are so so excited about the new house.

My laundry room!!

DON'T MESS WITH OLD PEOPLE!!

Don't mess with old people.

George Phillips, an elderly man, from Vancouver, B.C., was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.

He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" He said "No," but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me. Then the police dispatcher said "All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available."

George said, "Okay." He hung up the phone and counted to 30. Then he phoned the police again.

"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I just shot them." and he hung up.

Within five minutes, six Police Cars, a SWAT Team, a Helicopter, two Fire Trucks, a Paramedic, and an Ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence, and caught the burglars red-handed. One of the Policemen said to George, "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"
George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

(True Story) I LOVE IT! Don't mess with old people.

Valentines Day!

I hope everybody had a great V-Day.  I did.  Ry came home from work with a valentine for Reag and Gav and Payton.  The boys each got a cute puppy, and Reagan got a purse full of hair accessories and some glittery lip gloss.  They loved it.
Ryan got me 6 roses and tied to each rose was a sweet memory representing that year of marriage.  It was really cute.  The roses are beautiful.  I love flowers.
For Ry, I found my idea on cutegirlshairstyles.  I revamped it a bit though.  I got a bunch of balloons and had them tied to the gate when he got home from work and then had like 60 or so different things I love or appreciate about him scattered all over the front room w/tiny nerds boxes too.(his favorite candy) He had to sit in the middle of it all and read through them. When he was done with that I gave him a card.  I am very happy with our Valentines day...

...Then we headed out to my cousins house where my brother and sisters families met to eat heart shaped pizza and then we decorated sugar cookies.(The kids loved this part, Reagan is sporting one of here cookies she decorated all by herself.) then we got all dressed up in our snow clothes and went outside to play in the snow and play on the 4-wheeler and snow mobile (Thanks Bobi & Stan)  It was such a blast.  I am pretty sure we are all in on making it an annual thing.  Sorry for no pics but I forgot my camera so I have to wait for my sister to send me the pics off of hers.
Oh yeah funny story, Gavin was playing the Wii that morning(bowling) and he bowls by holding the remote between his legs and then flinging it up real fast and real hard.  Well he finally did it... he punched himself right in the eye.  And yes from 10a.m. to 4 he kept his eyes shut. He didn't eat pizza with us or decorate cookies because he was not going to open his eye.  (I guess holding them both closed was easier than shutting one all day) He finally got up when I showed him a horse and got him to go outside to play in the snow.  He complained the rest of the day about it but at least he got to play  with the kids.

Scentsy, Scentsy, Read all about it!

Alright I should have posted this last week it has just been a busy weekend.  I had a scentsy party last Thursday and I am closing the party tomorrow.  The best part about it is that everything is 10% off this month and the warmer of the month is 20% off (if any of you are music lovers) I am getting it and I am so excited.
Also the fall/winter scents and some warmers are being discontinued for the season and then they bring SOME of them back next fall.  So get them while you can.  If anyone is interested leave me a comment with your email and I will get a hold of you.  My party lady can ship it out to you so no worries about long distance.
I love scentsy.

Sunbeams!

This is cute!

The following was originally told by a physician in Utah:

I work part-time as a teacher of family doctors. The program provides training on psychiatric disorders and emphasizes the importance of emotional support. . . . One of our interns, who has never lived in Utah and knows nothing about Mormons, is still struggling to understand the cultural climate here. He was interviewing a new patient and stumbled on what he thought was a raging psychosis. Here's a summary of his conversation with the patient.

Doctor: "Well, Mrs. Olsen, we've talked about your high blood pressure and your medications. Are you experiencing any particular stress in your life?"

Patient: "Oh, yes. It's the Sunbeams. They're driving me crazy."

Doctor: "The Sunbeams?"

Patient: "Yes. I've never had trouble with them before, but this group won't sit still. They bounce all over the room, and run out the door and down the hall."

Doctor: (reaching for a pen): "Have you told anyone about this?"

Patient: "Of course. I told the president."

Doctor: "Really! What did the president tell you?"

Patient: "She said Sunbeams are like that. I'm just going to have to learn to deal with them."

Doctor: (concerned that he may be missing something): "I know people who are sensitive to sunbeams. Do they cause you a rash or anything?"

Patient: "A rash? No."

Doctor: "Then what is the biggest problem they're creating?"

Patient: "It's the noise. They just won't quit talking."

Doctor (astonished): "The sunbeams are talking to you?"

Patient: "Well, yes. But mostly they talk to each other."

Doctor (scribbling furiously in the chart): "I see. Can anyone else hear them talking?"

Patient (after a moment of stunned silence): "You're not LDS, are you?......"

Heart Princess

Okay so here is my attempt at the heart do!  Her hair is not long enough to do the one big heart in the back so I improvised and did two littler ones on the top-side of her head and pulled them back into two piggies!

Hardworking Woman.

I think I can speak for most husbands in saying that there is so often times in which we are not grateful enough for what our wives do.  I put myself right with that group.  I am often not grateful enough for my wife who works so hard to make things nice in our home and take on the most challenging job there is which is to raise children.  Brandi is such a hard worker and it amazes me the days i'm home sick or don't have work how much she actually does.  The other day I heard the sweetest sound coming from Reagan's room.  I snuck around to the room and saw Brandi sitting in the rocking chair with Reagan and Gavin on her lap reading a book to them.  This touched me so deeply to see such a sweet sight.  I realized at that point that there is so much that goes on behind the scenes of homes that are invisible to husbands and fathers.  I love you so much Brandi and am so eternally grateful for all you do.  I will do better to be more vocal about noticing the things you do.

Invisible Mother......

I KNOW IT IS A BIT LONG BUT ALL YOU MOMS OUT THERE IT IS WELL WORTH THE READ!

Invisible Mother......

(this puts it all in a row for me)

It all began to make sense, the blank stares, the lack of
response, the way one of the kids will walk into the room
while I'm on the phone and ask me a question.

Inside I'm thinking, 'Can't you see I'm on
 the phone?'

 Obviously not.

No one can see if I'm on the phone, or cooking, or
sweeping the floor, or even standing on my head in the
corner, because no one can see me at all.

I'm invisible. The invisible Mom. Some days I am only a
pair of hands, nothing more: Can you fix this? Can you tie
 this? Can you open this?

Some days I'm not a pair of hands; I'm not even
a human being. I'm a clock to ask, 'What time is
it?' I'm a satellite guide to answer, 'What
number is the Disney Channel?' I'm a car to order,
 'Right around 5:30, please.'

I was certain that these were the hands that once held
books and the eyes that studied history and the mind
that graduated summa cum laude - but now they had
disappeared into the peanut butter, never to be seen again.
She's going; she's going; she is gone!

One night, a group of us were having dinner, celebrating
the return of a friend from England ...

Janice had just gotten back from a fabulous trip, and she
was going on and on about the hotel she stayed in.

I was sitting there, looking around at the others all put
together so well. It was hard not to compare and feel
 sorry for myself.

I was feeling pretty pathetic, when Janice turned to me
with a beautifully wrapped package, and said, 'I
 brought you this.'
It was a book on the great cathedrals of Europe.

I wasn't exactly sure why she'd given it to me
 until I read her inscription:

'To Charlotte, with admiration for the greatness of
what you are building when no one sees.'

In the
days ahead I would read - no, devour - the book. And I would
discover what would become for me, four life-changing
truths, after which I could pattern my work:

No one can say who built the great cathedrals - we have no
 record of their names.

These builders gave their whole lives for a work they would
 never see finished.

They made great sacrifices and expected no credit. The
passion of their building was fueled by their faith that the
 eyes of God saw everything.

A legendary story in the book told of a rich man who came
to visit the cathedral while it was being built, and he saw
a workman carving a tiny bird on the inside of a beam. He
was puzzled and asked the man, 'Why are you spending so
much time carving that bird into a beam that will be covered
by the roof? No one will ever see it.' And the
 workman replied, 'Because God sees.'

I closed the book, feeling the missing piece fall into
 place.

It was almost as if I heard God whispering to me, 'I
see you, Charlotte. I see the sacrifices you make every
day, even when no one around you does. No act of kindness
you've done, no sequin you've sewn on, no cupcake
you've baked, is too small for me to notice and smile
over. You are building a great cathedral, but you can't
see right now what it will become.'

At times, my invisibility feels like an affliction. But
it is not a disease that is erasing my life.

It is the cure for the disease of my own
self-centeredness. It is the antidote to my strong,
 stubborn pride.

I keep the right perspective when I see myself as a great
builder. As one of the people who show up at a job that
they will never see finished, to work on something that
their name will never be on.

The writer of the book went so far as to say that no
cathedrals could ever be built in our lifetime because there
are so few people willing to sacrifice to that degree.

When I really think about it, I don't want my son to
tell the friend he's bringing home from college
for Thanksgiving, 'My Mom gets up at 4 in the morning
and bakes homemade pies, and then she hand bastes a turkey
for three hours and presses all the linens for the
table.' That would mean I'd built a shrine or a
monument to myself. I just want him to want to come home.
And then, if there is anything more to say to his friend,
to add, 'you're gonna love it there.'

As mothers, we are building great cathedrals. We cannot be
seen if we're doing it right.

And one day, it is very possible that the world will
marvel, not only at what we have built, but at the beauty
that has been added to the world by the sacrifices of
 invisible women.

 Great Job, MOM!

Share this with all the Invisible Moms you know...

Hope this encourages you when the going gets tough as it
sometimes does. We never know what our finished products
will turn out to be because of
 our perseverance.

 ones who don't!"

SUPER BOWL PARTY GONE BAD!!, SNOW TIME FUN, & TEA PARTY!!

SUPER BOWL PARTY GONE BAD!

(sorry for the really long post, but I had to catch up!)

So we planned a Super Bowl Party with my parents at midnight last night.  They came over we dished ourselves up all the usual junk food(remember it is midnight so calories are going straight to the butt) anyways, that is beside the point.  Okay so to the STORY... we are all super into the game close to the end of the 3rd quarter with the Cardinals down so we can't wait for the 4rth to watch them come back and kick the Steelers butts!  We hit some commercials and the signal starts to fade which it does now and then so we just watch and wait and then the recording ends.  Saying the signal faded....WHAT!!!!!!! YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!  HOLY CRAP!   So then my dad says Ryan are you joking around over there with the remote and of course we all wish he had been.  YEAH FOR REAL THE GAME STOPPED...... so we had to look up on line and find out who won and to make things worse our team had come back and held the Steelers right up to the last minute and then.... our team lost.  SO WE ARE TOTALLY ANNOYED THAT WE WOULD HAVE BEEN JUMPING AROUND AND CRAWLING CLOSER AND CLOSER TO THE T.V.(at least I do on a super intense play) FOR AN INCREDIBLE FINISH!!!!  WHATEVER!!  I lost sleep and gained a new cheek for that!  Dish Network is gonna get it!
SO EVEN THOUGH THAT PART SUCKED IT WAS FUN TO HAVE THE PARENTS AND BROTHER OVER FOR SOME GOOD EATIN!

SNOW TIME FUN!!
They are so cute!  What a good bunch of kids.  I could not be happier!
How cute is that!?  I love this picture.  Ryan had a blast with his babies out in the snow!
Payton was not a huge fan of the snow falling in his face.  He was okay laying there but that darn falling snow ticked him off!
Ryan and the kids had a blast the last snow fall we had.  They started on a fort in the back yard.  They were so cute.  Daddy of course did most of the work but check out the kids bottom half of there snowman and they did do that all by themselves.

TEA PARTY
The kids decided they wanted to eat in Reagan's room at there new table they got for Christmas!  What cheesers!
My kids love to do cheers!  I love to clean up the cheers splash!;)
Reagan being her helpful self and making sure Gavin does not spill because she never does.
